Semnan Secures ۳,۸۴۷ Billion Rials for National Housing Initiative Infrastructure

- 3,847 billion rials secured for infrastructure services at National Housing Initiative sites in Semnan
- Over 2,900 billion rials allocated to water and wastewater companies and 940 billion rials to electricity companies
- Infrastructure delivery prioritised for projects with greater physical progress

Semnan – The Director-General of Roads and Urban Development for Semnan province announced that 3,847 billion rials in funding has been secured for the delivery of infrastructure services at National Housing Initiative sites across the province.
Speaking to the media on Tuesday, Seyed Mohammad Hosseini Tabatabaei stated that since the beginning of the Iranian year 1405 (starting March 2026), a payment of 490 billion rials has brought the total financing for infrastructure works from the National Housing Fund of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development to more than 3,847 billion rials.
Detailing the allocation of these funds, he added that over 2,900 billion rials has been assigned to the province’s water and wastewater companies and the regional water authority, while close to 940 billion rials has been transferred to the accounts of Semnan’s electricity distribution company and the regional electricity company.
Hosseini Tabatabaei stressed that the timely provision of infrastructure is one of the essential requirements for completing and bringing National Housing Initiative projects into operation. Accordingly, securing financial resources for the delivery of site infrastructure services is being pursued with urgency.
The Director-General outlined the financing mechanism, explaining that according to projections, 50 percent of the funding will come from the National Housing Fund of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development, 35 percent from the Ministry of Energy, and 15 percent from provincial resources.
He noted that the rollout of infrastructure services must keep pace with the progress of building works, with priority given to projects that have achieved greater physical advancement.
Hosseini Tabatabaei confirmed that coordination with the province’s utility agencies is ongoing to accelerate the installation of water and electricity networks, with the aim of providing the necessary infrastructure for residents in tandem with the progress of construction operations.
