Northern provinces gain appeal for investors amid geopolitical shifts
Housing Investment Focus Predicted to Shift to Northern Iran

- Shift of large-scale construction investments toward northern provinces
- Northern Iran becoming a safe and attractive region for investors
- Formation of a long-term investment culture in mixed-use projects
- Five-year priority for northern provinces due to adequate infrastructure and greater security
According to SAMA, Reza Dejagah, a building industry developer and CEO of Lotus Investment and Construction Group, has announced a shift in large-scale investments in the construction industry toward Iran’s northern provinces, citing recent geopolitical developments and the latest war. He emphasized that over the next five years, these regions will become the top priority for major investors and developers due to their energy infrastructure, water resources, favorable climate, and greater security.
Dejagah stated that the future of Iran’s construction industry over a ten-year period will witness significant changes in investment patterns, with the northern provinces becoming the new hub for attracting capital in the building sector.
Referring to geopolitical developments and the impact of the recent war on investment priorities, he noted that northern Iran has emerged as one of the safe and attractive regions for investors. According to this housing sector activist, the country’s major investors and developers are moving toward these areas, and gradually, traditional contractors will be replaced by professional developers in these provinces.
Mixed-Use Projects Gaining Traction
From Dejagah’s perspective, what matters in this shift is the formation of a long-term investment culture in mixed-use projects encompassing residential, tourism, commercial, and service functions. He stressed that such projects can address the multiple needs of the housing market while offering economic appeal to investors.
Northern Iran as a Five-Year Priority
This building industry developer predicted that in the next five years, the northern provinces will top investors’ choices due to their adequate energy infrastructure, access to sufficient water resources, favorable climate, and better security conditions. In his view, these combined factors will channel capital flows from other parts of the country toward these regions, bringing new transformations to the civil and architectural landscape of northern Iran.
