Building Developers Move Toward Professionalization

Reza Dejagah, a building industry developer, citing the 200 billion dollar loss to the country’s economy due to sanctions and infrastructural damage, reported a significant decline in the inclination to emigrate among investors and human capital, emphasizing that Iran’s future depends on trusting youth, elites, and the private sector to invest and preserve national achievements.

According to SAMA, Reza Dejagah, a building industry developer, stating that the construction and development industry requires a fundamental transformation in methods, said that the country’s economy has suffered approximately 200 billion dollars in economic losses over the past year, resulting from infrastructural damage and sanctions.

Referring to a shift in societal attitudes, he added: In the past, one would always hear of people seeking to emigrate, but now such a tendency is observed far less. It seems the fear of a complete collapse of the country’s situation, which previously existed in people’s minds, has diminished, and people have come to understand that national capabilities and identity are too great to be simply wiped out.

Increased Hope for Long-Term Investment in Housing

This building industry activist, pointing to an improved investment climate, stated: Hope for investment in the housing sector as a long-term investment has increased, and the definition of construction projects in the country is on the rise.

He explained that individuals, after experiencing and testing various intellectual, cultural, and lifestyle trends, are now seeking to realize their personal interests through construction projects in specific locations.

Transfer of Lifestyle Creation Responsibility to the Private Sector

Dejagah, emphasizing the necessity of professionalizing the building industry, said: It appears that the trend toward specialization and professionalization of the building and development industry is taking shape, and in fact, a strategic transfer of creating contemporary Iranian lifestyle from the public sector to the private sector is underway.

Referring to the unsuccessful experience of leftist, socialist, and communist views in past years, the results of which he considered visible in the current situation, he added: The government has had an unsuccessful performance in the past five years in the realm of lifestyle production, culture, and art, and in my opinion, Iran’s future has only one path, and that is trusting youth, elites, and the private sector to think, invest, and protect national achievements.

Iran’s Superiority in Architecture and Urban Planning

He further, referring to Iran’s rich artistic, cultural, and architectural heritage, stated: Iran is significantly ahead of neighboring countries in terms of artistic, cultural, and architectural heritage. If the private sector’s hand is opened in a secure investment environment, within the next 15 years, we can play a prominent and unique role, far ahead of neighboring countries, in the production, creation, innovation, and sustainability of contemporary lifestyle.
