۱,۵۰۰ Residential Units in Parand Prepared for Handover to Applicants

According to SAMA, Reza Rajabzadeh, CEO of Parand New Town Development Company, has announced the preparation of 1,500 residential units for handover to applicants, with plans in place to complete an additional 3,000 units by the end of the current Iranian calendar year (March 2026). He emphasized that the quality of current projects is not comparable to the earlier Maskan-e Mehr (affordable housing) program, stating that these projects are being implemented in accordance with national standards and under rigorous technical supervision.

Rajabzadeh highlighted the scale of construction operations in the city, noting that approximately 30,000 residential units are currently at various stages of construction, describing the city as one of the largest construction sites in the country.

Emphasizing the qualitative difference between current projects and the Maskan-e Mehr scheme, he said: “The projects now being built in Parand comply with the required standards set by the national building regulations and relevant codes. Construction quality is verified through geotechnical laboratories and various control methods, which will result in the delivery of higher-quality buildings to the public.”

The CEO of Parand New Town Development Company stated that the construction model in Parand follows its own specific rules and regulations, adding: “These projects are being carried out with private investment and bank financing. Currently, 1,500 units are ready for handover to applicants, and we hope to complete and deliver another 3,000 units by the end of this year.”

Infrastructure Provision Challenge in Parand

Rajabzadeh identified the provision of urban infrastructure as one of the key issues in Parand, stating: “New towns, including Parand, require new planning and the creation of additional capacities in water, electricity, and other infrastructure sectors to meet the needs of the resident population.”

Need for a Shift in Housing Market Investment Approach

The official also addressed changes in the housing investment market, saying: “Traditional approaches that focused solely on producing units with specific floor areas will no longer be as effective in the long term. Today’s housing market is one of the country’s investment arenas, and the perspective on investment in this sector has changed, with numerous parallel markets emerging.”

Criticizing the traditional view of housing investment, he remarked: “Outdated beliefs such as ‘money is in the ground’ or ‘money is in buildings’ no longer address current conditions. The most successful investors are those who bring innovation to the housing economy and have a comprehensive understanding of the market, the economy, and people’s needs.”

Emphasis on Modern Technologies and Energy Consumption

In conclusion, the CEO of Parand New Town Development Company stressed the importance of using modern technologies in construction, identifying energy and transportation as new priorities in housing planning and investment. He noted: “These issues, which previously had no place in traditional housing planning categories, are now of particular importance and must be addressed with a fresh perspective to achieve the desired quality in this sector.”
